How many times have you been to a store and glanced at a new product display just to dismiss it completely?
Your first glance probably told you it’s not something you need or possibly why in the world would anyone want that product?
That was my reaction to Kinn’s Kleanbowl when I briskly walked past their booth at recent pet industry trade shows. My glance told me it was a nice idea, but I did not get the value added to pets or pet professionals. Then I received a call from Alex asking for my input on their product with an invitation to try it out.
So Sheppy and Archie served as test dogs and ate their meals from the Kleanbowl. Using the product and understanding that the disposable bowl material is compostable definitely changed my views. The feature that I loved as a pet parent is the non-slip ring on the bottom of the bowl. No more scraping bowl noise at meal-time or trying to find where Archie pushed his bowl in his effort to lick every morsel.

As much as I like the product I like Alex even more as early in our dialog he shared that they knew a larger bowl size was needed and they are working on it (bowls are available in 8, 16 and 24 ounces).
Our industry needs innovative vendors that admit where a product falls short and actively seeks out constructive feedback on their products. I believe Kinn Company has joined our industry to be a partner to us and to better the lives of pets.
